Here's why the Republicans are keeping Blumenthal's testimony under wraps, because it had absolutely nothing to do with Benghazi. They didn't even pretend it did. Instead, here are the questions they asked him:
270 questions about his business dealings in Libya.
160 questions about his relationship with the Clintons.
50 questions about the Clinton Foundation.
Less than 20 questions about the Benghazi attacks.
Zero questions about the United States presence in Benghazi.
And remember, this purportedly was part of an investigation about the Benghazi attack, yet out of the close to 600 questions they asked him less than 20 had anything whatsoever to do with the Benghazi attack.
The transcript of Blumenthal's testimony would highlight, with no room for obfuscation, exactly what this pretend committee was looking for, and it had nothing to do with finding the truth behind the attacks and everything to do with trying to bring Clinton down.
Gowdy knows this. That's why he's fighting so hard to keep his duplicity under wraps.

Furthermore, what astounds me about yesterday's Goudy Clown Show, was that not one Republican who was out to get Hillary never asked the most basic, pointed, pertinent "Gotcha" question about the whole matter.
"What was Chris Stevens doing in Benghazi with the CIA on 9/11?" "Why Wasn't he at the actual Embassy in Tripoli, while that same day, many of our embassies were under attack in the ME?" That was the one question the Goudy Committee was forbidden to ask or too stupid to ask and it's the one question that is really the heart of the matter.
Sure is. And if Clinton lies, by either omission or commission, maybe she's in on the secret too, and is still respecting the oath of office she took as SoS.
After 7? previous investigations, you'd think that the Rs would have formed some theory about what actually happened at Benghazi, and would have focussed their line of questioning sufficiently to have started laying out their case. Gowdy, as a former prosecutor, surely knows how to build a case. Or maybe he doesn't, and that's why he's no longer a prosecutor? A fishing expedition is the sign of someone who doesn't have a case to make.
Everyone who watches TV and movie courtroom dramas knows that you never ask a question if you don't already know what the answer will be, and have a plan for following up on the answer you get.

You should tell that to the pretend Benghazi committee. They have been selectively leaking bits and pieces of the testimony that they want out there. Why is that okay?
Benghazi became the lightning rod it did because divisive politicians made it so. Politicians consistently use the age old divide and conquer to split Americans up so they can get elected and serve their big money contributors. In the mean time the rest of us sit and squabble over scraps while our elected officials sit fat and happy.

Everyday people with simple minds can write into that site and those with simple minds will agree with it. When congress is investigating and holding these hearings - an essential part of "due process", something many Americans are clueless to - they are doing their jobs; they are paid to do such. Would you rather they sit in their offices drinking and playing 'spank the secretary' Mad Men style?
