The prophetic theology of the black church has always seen and still sees all of God's children as sisters and brothers, equals who need reconciliation, who need to be reconciled as equals in order for us to walk together into the future which God has prepared for us. Reconciliation does not mean that blacks become whites or whites become blacks and Hispanics become Asian or that Asians become Europeans.
Reconciliation means we embrace our individual rich histories, all of them. We retain who we are as persons of different cultures, while acknowledging that those of other cultures are not superior or inferior to us. They are just different from us. We root out any teaching of superiority, inferiority, hatred, or prejudice.
And we recognize for the first time in modern history in the West that the other who stands before us with a different color of skin, a different texture of hair, different music, different preaching styles, and different dance moves, that other is one of God's children just as we are, no better, no worse, prone to error and in need of forgiveness, just as we are.
How could I have missed it, Rev. Wright's words are just oozing with hatred of whites.
The rants about Christians, and the references to rural dwellers as hicks and inbreds must have thrown me off, because those insults are typical of some liberals on this board.
Umm. Exactly what did he say that was not factual?
I thought all conservatives were oh so tired of being politically correct? I hate to tell you - but that also applies to opinions that you DON"T agree with.
Obama did not cite any facts to back up his comments, like he always does, he inserts a straw man into his speeches, and then proceeds to beat the snot out of it, and fools like you claim what he said was factual.
If anyone looks down with antipathy for anyone different they, it's Obama. He routinely insults, belittles, and maligns Americans, conservatives, Republicans, TEA party members. It's Obama who he is talking about, while prenteding it's not himself that does this, it's those mean white people who disagree with his politics and idelogy who do that.

What "facts" would he need to back up his comments?
He was having a conversation with a Christian author who routinely writes about the hypocrisy apparent in the actions of many Christians.
The article that you originally cited pulled one quote entirely out of context likely because they, like many self-reported Christians, don't like being called on their hypocrisy.
It is pretty clear after reading through all of the comments in this thread, that pretty much no one bothered to read the entire conversation because of course why bother being informed before posting.
Perhaps, his remarks hit just a little too close to home, eh?
Remember canidate Obama's comments about how Americans are the bitter clingersWell, he just made essentially the same comment once again, confirming hiscontinued disdain for Christians in the US
Here's his famous comment during a fundraiser in San Francisco in 2008:
"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Here's Obama September 14th, President Barack Obama interviewed Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson in Iowa.*During the interview,*repeating essentially the same thing:
"How do you reconcile the idea of faith being really important to you and you caring a lot about taking faith seriously with the fact that, at least in our democracy and our civic discourse, it seems as if folks who take religion the most seriously sometimes are also those who are suspicious of those not like them?”
Yup, those Americans who "have racism in their DNA" cling to their religion have antipathy for people who are not like them, eh?
Remember the comment from Obama earlier this year?
“And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”
I'm tired of the man always insulting and talking down to the people. He has disdain for Americans, ans especially Christians, fine, but he can keep those thoughts yo himself.
In the global world, white,Christian males have less power. This is pretty obvious so I don't understand the big fuss? The world is constantly changing and America's time as unquestioned world power is waning, this has been happening before Obama.

Obama has no standing to call anyone out on their hypocrisy.

Well clearly white Christian males don't like this.
