Well of course we are talking about welfare benefits. I used the language within the lawsuit. It also mentions potentially being denied access to education.
Some of these families claim they are unable to have their babies baptized in a church without a birth certificate.
Mexico has weighed in on ^ matter saying these children are not eligible for entry to Mexico without a US birth certificate.
I have posted before about family friends who are not Hispanic. Daughter married an illegal alien who was brought here by his parents as a baby. They had a child together. He was deported after his third DUI. Wife and their child moved to Mexico with him. She is bilingual. He does not speak Spanish.
Fast forward, baby #2 is born in Mexico. They cannot get a birth certificate for the baby because mom is not a citizen and more importantly, overstayed her visa. She cannot legally bring baby # 2 into the US because the baby does not have a birth certificate.
That doesn't matter. HappyTexan is here LEGALLY because her parents followed the rules. ILLEGAL aliens DON'T follow the rule and their kind just need to be kicked OUT of the US. Period.
US born anchor kids DON'T deserve birthright unless at least 1 parent's a US citizen. The US born kids of diplomats DON'T get birthright AND their parents are in the US legally.
Folks..go take a look at your I-9 form. Is a Mexican Metricula listed ?
Texas is following the law here.
Personally I think the certs should be issued. We have open borders and Texas is just barking up a tree here.
But it will force the FedGov to do something and finally make a statement on its validity.
Reportedly, some counties in Texas accepted the Metricula while others did not. If the parents had a driver's license from Mexico or a valid passport with visa, the ID would be acceptable. They can't go back for it as they would be denied re-entry.

Do you remember how many kids came across the border last summer with NO ID at all.
They all got placed into schools. 18-20 year olds said they were 16 and got put into our K-12 system.
An no, birth certificates are NOT required to get into school anymore.
An entry in a family bible is sufficient "proof of age" per the DOJ and DOE
Not playing by a country's rules usually can and does get you in trouble.
