Stop lumping those who smoke MJ with those that use hard drugs. Do you have any links from reliable sources showing how those who smoke MJ will do "anything to get their next fix"?? A small baggie costs $5.
Links? I don't give a damn about links. I've seen people high as hell get behind a wheel and put themselves and others in danger. Real classy huh..

I feel safer when drunks are on the road? I'll assume you're high now because no one ever said that.

And therein lies the problem. Because of your father's addiction to alcohol and (hard?) drugs, you think that is the case with everyone who smokes MJ and they are the same as him.

It's not about cycles, but cultures within families. Time after time, I've seen parents with drug/alcohol issues, turn out well balanced kids, who don't have any particular interest in drink and drugs.

Your idea though is a complete utter failure, the drug war has been going on for decades and has failed in every way. Portugal, which completely legalized all drugs, saw drug usage and crime rates fall.

Time to end the idiotic drug war, which has only cost tons of money with no results.

Another part, not everyone who uses marijuana, prescriptions, alcohol, etc..., ae weak minded junkies. As mentioned by previous posts, plenty of people use these drugs and do not harm anyone else in the process, and continue to be a functioning part of society, such as in Portugal.

Your idea is to ruin their lives, by giving them a criminal record making it hard, if not impossible for them to provide for themselves or their family. It does not work, as seen by the previous decades of government policy.

Not at all. My step son choose the same path too and by the age of 21 got 4 felonies and it all STARTED with drugs. Now that he's out of prison he has his MJ card, he has zero health issues and has zero need for it other than to be lazy and get high all day legally.

ASSumption. That's your problem. You clearly assume a lot of things and you couldn't be more wrong.

Carry on.

What were they high on?? Booze? Beer? You seem to hang around with a lot of boozers and MJ smokers.

That is incredible and I give those kids all of the credit in the world, I know how hard it can be for them. To me it was a no brainer even as a little kid, I knew that I never wanted to put my future family thru such things.

You're the one that ASSumes. My wife works at a casino and on multiple occasions we have almost been hit on the way home by drunks. I don't hang out with such people if I can help it and it is the reason why I don't associate with alot of my family.

Yes but alot of these individuals have no desire or drive to succeed in life. And does the war on drugs work? Unfortunately not. It all starts at home, but alot of innocent kids have it extra hard because their moms and dad's (if they even have one) set bad examples and are drunks or drug addicts themselves.
