Can someone explain just why in the hell we are putting our servicemen in harm's way in the fight against ISIS? Especially to fight for Iraqi hostages. Just why should we sacrifice the lives of any American servicemen for the sake of people that are too cowardly to fight for themselves? For a nation who's "soldiers" throw down their arms and turn them over to ISIS? As I have said many times, there is no one in the Middle East worth the life of one American serviceman. It is way past time to get out and let the people of the ME deal with their own problems, silly superstitions and all. They don't deserve the sacrifice of our young men and women.
RIP to a hero and warrior.
More of a War Hero than John McCain... That's for sure...
So they expend trillions of taxpayer dollars and sacrifice thousands of young American lives to get rid of Saddam Hussein and his imaginary WMDs, but he is only to be replaced with something far worse called ISIS.
A cluster---- neverending disaster of epic proportions. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
Because four times in the last five years the FBI has intercepted ISIS' attempt to get their hands on nuclear material. Or, they have intercepted attempts by various groups to sell it to ISIS.

Washington remains gripped by the astonishingly durable fantasy that there is a military solution to problems afflicting the Middle East. In fact there is none. It is time to break the cycle of intervening, withdrawing, and then returning to clean up the unexpected mess.
Many just don't get the purpose of military, military is to defend the country, not fight other people's war.

We're in solid agreement here.
The US should withdraw all personnel and every last bit of equipment before Monday. There is no win in the middle east. Those mindless fools have been slaughtering one another over the silliest differences for 10,000 years. There's nothing we or anyone else can do to civilize them.
They had the graves dug and were ready to kill the 70 hostages, all the ISIS guards were killed. The Peshmerga are the only forces we support doing anything in that country, it's a shame the only one killed was an American soldier.
Wow, we agree. We should never have been in Iraq and should have left Afghan 10 years ago. I don't think anything in the ME is worth the loss of 1 American.
Yet, most of those who are candidates for 2016 have made their intent to do and spend more, very clear.

Have you considered the possibility that the US engagement in the ME may be an attempt to defend the US standard of living?
