Really.
Brilliant. Isn't that what Bush and Cheney said about getting Saddam out of power?

'It will be worth it.'

The power void would be filled by someone handpicked by Washington who would then require massive amounts of security meaning US bases and American boots on the ground in Syria to guard him against ISIS jihadists and local Syrians who would rightly regard him as a western puppet and would be constantly trying to pick him off.

American ground forces in Syria would be a great way to attract vast new numbers of ISIS and jihadist recruits from all over the Middle East lusting for the chance to kill the American infidel invaders and the resulting nightmare would make Iraq look like a Sunday picnic.

We were just showing off our brand new hover boards since Obama said there wouldn't be boots on the ground.

Big loss. 11 Bronze Stars. Never heard of a Soldier earning so many.....and with valor. Heroic in my eyes - (Trump wouldn't consider him a hero since he didn't return alive).

It turned out the US raid was used to free ISIS fighters who had been imprisoned. This is inadvertently revealed in the first paragraph in the following news article covering the raid.

Kurdish Forces Request More U.S. Support In Fight Against ISIS : NPR

Besides the other claims, the raid was done without the involvement of the Iraqi military and without the approval of the government in Baghdad.
