The stimulus created 3.3 million jobs for American workers. It's ridiculous of you to argue that 3.3 million jobs didn't benefit Americans. Please tell us how the Iraq war--that cost at thousands of times as much and which we will continue to pay for for many years to come--benefited Americans.

Giving a dime to Planned Parenthood is a massive waste of taxpayer money.

A dime spent on contraception gives taxpayers a 30 cent return on investment.

Have I missed some data/evidence since the early days of this controversy?
Well, if all they are doing is charging for the cost of shipping by the once, then why haggle over the sale price for an "intact specimen" that weighs three pounds, over a bunch of assorted body parts that might weigh three pounds also?

The people at PP are filmed selling babies and baby parts according quality, rarity, and length of gestation. Clearly they were not just trying to recoup processing and shipping costs.

Sounds almost like a line from the movie Braveheart that was used to make the king sound like a villain:

Longshanks: "Not the archers. My scouts tell me their archers are miles away and no threat to us. Arrows cost money. Use up the Irish. The dead cost nothing."

The stimulus bills worked? Seriously, we must have spent our way out of debt and we no longer have poverty or more people than ever not working or on welfare.......oh wait

So you thought one stimulus bill of $800 billion was going to solve all of the country's problems? Really? Keep smacking your head, maybe you can smack some common sense into it.

It did, however, create 3.3 million jobs, and if could have been larger, or we could have invested even more in putting Americans to work, it would have been even more effective. But we all know why that didn't happen.

Much of the stimulus went to teachers, police and other public servants in states that were laying off due to the economic down turn in 2008, it wasn't a complete solution but it certainly helped.

So here were are in 2015 banks are larger than ever and theri risky practices have barely changed, the GOP focus - create a committee to investigate Planned Parenhood as they are one of the largest problems we face.

I tell you what they did with it my state, they got 500 million the first year and slashed state pending on education by 250 million. The second year they got 1 billion and slashed it another 250 million. That left a 1 billion dollar gap in the budget in the third year, they only increased spending back to the original level before the stimulus. Commence the whining from the teachers unions and school districts about spending cuts.

That money should have been invested in long term benefits; computers, new schools etc.

You want check on who is doing the real spending. The Constitution's Origination Clause requires that all revenue raising bills originate in the United States House of Representatives. Because of this requirement, almost all appropriation bills also originate in the House. But no matter where the bill originates, Obama can't spend what Congress does not authorize or appropriate.

Bottom line, it takes both the Congress and the Executive to spend money, except of course, when the Congress overrides a Presidential veto of a spending bill.

So Obama can't spend with authorization or directive of the Congress, but Congress can direct Obama to spend money even though he doesn't want to.

Now then, who is it that controls Congress?
