Since there isn't one here, I don't care.
We don't need one here, either. We have Cabela's, Scheels, Big Bear, and a huge outdoor/sporting section in the Big R ranch stores.
It will cost them money, and provide very little good press. Very few people will really care.

you sound irrationally angry about this. and to your point, you don't care.

I for one applaud them for putting their employees ahead of greed. Treat people with respect and dignity, and they will work very hard for you. a notion completely lost on 99% of retailers, and then they whine about 70% turnover rates

Maybe, but every time I go in one it costs me money and I don't need to go there on Black Friday.

[kudos to REI]

Exactly what I was going to say. Who is going there on BF anyway? I doubt they put anything on sale.

You get way better deals when REI has their scratch and dent sales. They do like two a year, those are REI's Black Fridays. The online store will still be open, they wont lose any money. I guarantee to you that the Accountants and MBA's already crunched these numbers. This will have zero effect on their bottom line.

Good publicity, I find some deals there from time to time. Just like any place gotta keep an eye out.

If retards like to line up on Thanksgiving morning so they can buy a phone that costs $10 to make but is on sale for $75 (as opposed to costing them $150) more power to them, then the stores will continue to be open. Maybe big daddy government can tell everyone to shut down on our racist turkey holiday.

Just watch the news when you see the people lined up, they share a lot of the same characteristics.

Online ordering will be available so not all employees will get a two- day holiday.

Most REI employees are full time and the company picks up 85% of the full time employee's health and dental care premium.

REI pays 60% of the healthcare premium for permanent part time employees.

Seasonal part time employees do not recieve benefits but may be offered a permanent position after the season.

Most local governments do not have laws about when retail stores can be open, let alone state or federal governments.

If the people did not come, the stores would not open.
