Yes very Naive and laughable.
Go take a trip around the world and visit these countries, North Korea, China, Not Hong Kong, Russian Siberian, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Somalia. I challenge you to go there unescorted.Waterboarding has been around for centuries. I actually saw the contraption they used in Roamnia during Vlad the Impaler days. Quite effective. And water boarding is nothing compared to many things other countries do. And it is safe and effective.. Get over it. You are very very ignorant to the world and how things work past CNN and Huffington post. And that is being nice. No fricking clue buddy. NONE>

Be thankful the US protects your freedoms and safety by getting rid of threats daily.
If you want the threats to go away vote for those who want to end our involvement in the Middle East and bring the troops home to protect our borders like the Constitution says.
Otherwise you're treating symptoms instead of the cause.

The Constitution requires only one branch of the service, the US Navy, its in section 10 I believe. Read it, its a fascinating document very few politicians read, especially the POTUS. Its main purpose is to keep sea lanes open and to protect our country against threats foreign and domestic. The Army is only required 2 years at a time, if memory is correct.
So, if we need something from another country, such as oil(Which your life depends on everyday here from food to clothes, phones, laptops, tvs, homes, delivery of products supplies etc etc etc) , and we need to protect them for our oil reserves to stay full, well, then the ME is where we will be for a long time. Till we deplete their reserves, which is a strategic thing for the survival of our country.
And, to protect our allies there, such as Israel.
So, we arent leaving anytime soon.

Do you, sparky? You know about Geneva Conventions? You know about ROE? We can go down this rabbit hole if you want. I work in a building full of people with clearances, and I can assure you that none of them are on the same page as you.

I'll say this though, then I'll leave it alone. First, we should've left Saddam in power. Second, we should've went to Pakistan instead of Afghanistan.

He doesnt understand. He is pretty young too.
We should have left Saddam in power, as he kept many in check over there..
Pakistan is a deviant little country. We should have gone in there as Osama was walking in.
And that little place he was hanging out in Pakistan was well known to all in Pakistan, as it was near there Military academy of sorts. Its equivalent to Camp Buckner in West Point...

Not that much when you do the math. Costs allot to run a prison, from personnel to food, etc etc. See how much it costs to run a prison here in USA, with 500 prisoners, for example. There are more than just the detainees down there.

Guantanamo is a product of our invasion into Iraq, lacking that we wouldn't even be having this discussion. The Taliban are a different story, they never should have been placed there in the first place.

Invading any country is not a solution, I would hope we would have learned our lesson that force does not work but we continue to think we can shape the world unilaterally as if it was the 1940's.

But, if we invade a country, we need to take it and not try to make it a republic. History is one thing our country, and others keep repeating..

We don't have enough troops to take any country lacking a draft and we have no right to intercede into any countries affairs in any event. Panama, Vietnam, Phillipines, Nicaragua and now Afghanistan and Iraq have not worked out well, the American people have had enough.
