Obama has taken the position that America is not exceptional, and has been proclaiming that abroad and at home. He wanted this country to be no better and no different than any other, and has been working to bring it down to the same level as everyone else is perceived to be at.
Well, now would be the time for him to fall into line with the rest of the world and their position toward accepting these refugees.
But, for some inexplicable reason he now wants America to rise to a higher level, to 'live up to our values.'
So he's admitting we're exceptional after all?

Why not do yourself a favor and put a disclaimer on this that it is your opinion and is not based on factual information?
Answer the question without playing games. A straight out answer to: What would you say to the French people in the aftermath of this terrorist attack if you were a president of the U.S.A.?
Hillary said in the last democrat "debate" that she supported Obama (who wants to contain ISIS) but she must of miss-spoke because she now really, really wants to get those guys. "Huh?"
Slap me but I just can't see her as commander in chief of the army, navy, air force and marines.
In answer to your question, the president should have said he understands the problem and "The US has got this." And then acts.
Most Americans opposed allowing Jewish refugees in too.
