I think this is a weird question.

No group has a lock on common sense. Just as no group has a lock on craziness.

I look at the individual, not the group.

In general, I will say that I distrust knee-jerk bellicosity, if that helps.

None do a particularly good job. If I have to pick, I'll go for the Democrats because they're generally less into the whole idea of invading random countries and turning them into failed states run by terrorists.

No kidding.

The fear that some are expressing on this board, and the measures they are demanding to quell that fear, could lead straight to a police state.

I think most americans are more sensible than that.

I can't believe I'm saying this (given W) but the Republicans. They are the only ones willing to seal shut out borders and show no mercy to radical Islam.

Both of the major political parties that have had a turn at leading this country have periodically and alternately succeeded and failed on national security. So, I don't trust one more than the other.

[two sides of the same coin]

It really comes down to people instead of party.

Obama is simply one of them. Jarrett is about Iran. I think the worse thing he said about the Paris attack was that it was "outrageous". So he is at the extreme end of the curve. I wouldn't put all of the left at his level.

Generally the right is more defense minded, even though money can corrupt anyone.

Its not a d or r thing.
I see the fed govt. as whole, a gigantic security failure. It's helped create chaos and a breeding ground for terrorists in the Middle East with wars, policies of regime change and an undying support of anything Israel. It really is "the gang that couldn't shoot straight"
Who'd a thunk when you bomb a people for decades they seek whatever means to lash back out at you?
