Why? We're a sovereign nation, we should be allowed to let in whomever the hell we want. If we decide that some group of people is more trouble than they would be worth, we aren't obligated to take them in.

One of these days, folks won't just look at the headlines........

He didn't say all American were shameful. Just politicians suggesting a religious test, who have benefited from protection from persecution were.

And when I hear folks say that, well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who's fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that's shameful

Lets see there has been the IRA which killed lots of innocent people, you have the Christians in Bosnia that committed genocide. There are the Christians in Lebanon who killed innocent women and children. One of the Palestinian groups was run by a Christian. There are Christian in Africa who are killing Muslims just because the are Muslims.

I'm a Christian, so I have no problem with Christianity in general, but the idea that Christians can not be violent or wouldn't commit acts of terrorism just doesn't stand up to historical review.

I wonder what choice words he will have for the Governor of Massachusetts, who just joined the ranks of Gov's "not permitting" Muslim refugees in their state.

If Americans should be ashamed of anything, it's voting for Obama.

States can't make laws regarding immigration so their words are just pandering and bull.

Actually the states have the sole authority to do so.
The constitution authorizes the fed govt. to standardize the rules of naturalization and nothing more.

He also was late to a moment of silence of world leaders who were giving a moment of silence to the victims of the Paris mass shooting.

Did you read the link you posted? He said the idea of religious screening is shameful.

Religious screening is shameful and would be completely ineffective.

People lie. A devout Musllim probably knows more about JC than most in the US. JC is viewed as an important prophet within Islam. There are more than 40,000 Christian denominations in the US. There's probably another 40,000 in the rest of the world. Which brands of Christianity are acceptable?

The illegal immigration can has been kicked for 30 years. It has not mattered who sat the oval or held the majority. Let's resolve this issue before we take one more refugee from anywhere.

Default Obama Slams Suggested Religious Test for Syrian Refugees as 'Shameful'

President Obama today condemned those who have called for denying Syrian refugees entry to the United States because of the deadly attacks in Paris Friday.

"That's shameful. That’s not American. That’s not who we are," Obama said to reporters at the G-20 Summit in Antalya, Turkey.

Obama, in particular, also targeted remarks from some Republicans in the wake of the attacks who have suggested screening refugees seeking entry into the United States to make sure they are Christians and not Muslims.
