Obviously, there are already processes in place for 'scrutinizing' refugees.

This thread title is misleading.
No there isn't. The FBI said there is no way at all to vet these people. The only way to vet them is if they made it into OUR database of suspected terrorists. There is no Syrian background check database that exists. So if these people are not in OUR terror database nothing comes up. They are NOT being checked AT ALL.

Obama will veto any legislation scrutinizing refugees
That is not what your link says. It does not say he would veto ANY legislation, it says he would veto the one in question, which does nothing except delay and obstruct the process.

I'm could easily be convinced he is one of them. The word traitor comes to mind when I hear him badmouthing responsible Americans and doing questionable acts himself. Wonder when he will realize that those responsible Americans are right and he is wrong? Why did anybody vote for him? He is doing much damage to our country.

You don't build up America by going overseas and badmouthing the people who make up this country. Most people want nothing to do with anyone in the Middle East. The Middle East has been unstable since the beginning of time. We don't need any more of that here than we have already and we didn't and don't need the illegals that are here.

Usually when you see refugees there are more women and children than men. Why are more of these refugees men? Can we say Trojan Horse and get someone's attention. Just say no!

Are you serious?
How do you defend this position?
Why are more and more democratic congressmen changing their support of Obama?

White House says Obama would veto proposal for more scrutiny of refugees
He should veto because it is a piece of garbage that the GOP political machine put out in a day.

Funny how they will not bring up the bill suggested by the Pres. that would actually limit some exec. power over making war and giving Congress more say.

Cowards

Months? Try two years. Only 1% even get their papers sent to US. The rest are disqualified for failing to meet one criteria or another.

Here's what the U.S. process for vetting Syrian refugees actually looks like

So what does the vetting process actually look like? The nonpartisan fact-checking website PolitiFact has a thorough explanation, starting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' months-long process, which about 1 percent of refugees reportedly make it through. Then, the U.S. steps in:
Once a case is referred from the UNHCR to the United States, a refugee undergoes a security clearance check that could take several rounds, an in-person interview, approval by the Department of Homeland Security, medical screening, a match with a sponsor agency, "cultural orientation" classes, and one final security clearance. This all happens before a refugee ever gets onto American soil. [PolitiFact]
That whole process takes about two years on average, experts told PolitiFact.

"The process for refugees is the most extensive security screening we have for visitors," said Lavinia Limón, president of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, an advocacy group.

Yes, they ARE being screened. More info at link. Talk about believing lies............

1. Refugees are screened by several different agencies.

Their first point of a refugee's contact is with the U.N. High Commission for Refugees. The UNHCR refers people to countries based on whether they have any family members there and where resettlement makes the most sense, say U.S. officials. If that's the U.S., then refugees are vetted by the National Counterterrorism Center, the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center, and the Departments of State, Defense and Homeland Security. Fingerprints are taken, biographical information is collected. They are then each individually interviewed by U.S. officials trained to verify that they're bona fide refugees.

Again the GOP is being counter-factual. Anything for a base which is afraid and easily led.

No doubt that he will do ANYTHING to support muslims entering America. Also, no doubt that there are too many spineless politicians in Congress to override his vetos.
