1. we stand up to this guy because he is so very far out of the mainstream. THAT is the reason we stand up to him.

3. Mr. Obama may very well have taken some positions similar in nature to some things that some republicans have said and done. In fact Conservatives backed Mr. Bush down when he attempted to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. why would you expect Republicans to support Obama on something we didn't support a fellow republican on?

Obama does seem to delight in attacking Conservatives on a personal level. For common folk that is weak at best, but when you are the leader of a nation? As a leader you often have to deal with subordinates you not only disagree with , but flat out don't like. As a leader, well a good leader anyway, you don't let your personal feelings dictate your actions. Imagine if you had a boss who singled you out with slanderous statements, in front of your peers? Law suits have been won over less, and for good reason. It's wrong.
Obama is the President of the United States. He is supposed to represent all of us, not just the ones who adore him. I disagree with much of what the hard right like Cruze and Trump spout. I also disagree with the hard left. They both have made politics personal. It's sad, but over the last 30 years our political leaders have lost the ability to be civil. They have also lost the ability to compromise and actually represent the people they are sworn to represent.
