So you want to let them have planes? And you honestly think they won't pull a 9/11-type attack on Israel?

Well it is good that you are willing to admit you are making a generalization to try to prove a point.

So you admit that Gaza Strip is in fact isolated from the West Bank and the outside world....and then you wonder why their is no economic growth there?

It is hard for an area to have any real economic growth when they are cut off from the outside.
OK, we'll start with access to the WB. They did have it by bus in 2005 but now have to take different path to get there due to numerous situations that have occurred during the past 10 years which includes a coup by one Arab group over another. They did have access to their ports up to the time of the Hamas coup and until Egypt & Israel intercepted items to create weapons being brought via ships and fishing boats. Since then both Egypt & Israel no longer allow ships to dock there and Hamas has done to reverse it. They have in fact increased their fishing boat imports of items to create rockets.

Which were followed by shipments from the WB:
Israel intercepts 40 diving suits en route to Gaza - Arab-Israeli Conflict - Jerusalem Post
Smuggling of rocket fuel to Gaza foiled - Israel News, Ynetnews

The residents of the Gaza Strip did have access to Egypt and to their Airport. But in their normal fashion of give a inch take a mile they angered Egypt so much that Egypt built a concrete/steel border, put in a 2km wide moat and has limited the crossings into their country due to the numerous intrusions into Egypt creating a high crime rate which allowed the Gaza Strip to become a Black Market economy.

Next for the Gaza Strip:

Gaza freely elected HAMAS as its government. HAMAS is proudly at war with Israel and has said it will never-ever live in peace with Israel, in fact its main goal in life is to kill Israelis and Jews and violently destroy Israel. Based on that and on HAMAS policy of firing rockets at Israeli civilians and plots to kidnap Israeli citizens, why is it that Israel needs to open its borders to these enemies or allow trade with them?

You may also like to look at a map and see what other country Gaza borders, and also has a blockade on it to keep the hamas terrorists out. Hint, it's the country that used to own Gaza until 1967. But magically, it became "Palestinian land" 48 yrs ago.

Bolded. Hamas was elected to the majority of the Legislative council a year after Fatah was elected to be the leadership of the PA. Hamas took the Gaza Strip by coup and assassinated Fatah members of the Legislative Council living in the Gaza strip. The Legislative Council has not met since, yet they still get monthly payments even though their term ended in 2011. Fatah's ended in 2010 and neither group has allowed an election since. HAMAS is now the dictatorship over the Gaza Strip.

I guess there is no solution and nothing will happen about this in our lifetime. Maybe Israel should just eliminate the borders of West Bank and Gaza Strip and just run the whole country as their own because Palestine doesn't exist. I am sure that will solve their problems.

You seem to not know that the pre-1967 Green Line was not really much of a physical border.

The border of today didn't come into place until the suicide bombings started. Once they were completed in certain areas suicide bombings and criminal activity dropped dramatically in Israel.

Okay, guess Israel will just continue to imprison a portion of the people living in their country.....I am sure those people will appreciate that. You know, what do you want to see happen because it is clear to me that you don't like what I want to see happen?

What I'd like to see is the Arabs of those regions grow a set of balls overthrow Fatah (PLO) and Hamas and create a negotiating group that will meet with a Israeli negotiating group without any preconditions and work it out. The Arab people want peace, but their Arab leaders don't.
