I've been to Paris over a dozen times. My parents were in Paris on vacation and left the city two days before the most recent attacks. We will go again and again to this beautiful city. I've always felt safer in Paris than in Manhattan, except when Giuliani was mayor, where I lived for many years.
Not in the least. I am in France at present and I was in France the day of the attack. ( although far from Paris). I will be visiting Paris before I return to the states and I am not apprehensive at all about my visit.
I've been to Paris twice. The best time, in my opinion, is August. The city is less crowded but there is still plenty to see and do.
I remember the '89 earthquake in San Francisco.
Relatives and friends from other parts of the country tried to call us, convinced that the entire city was burning down.
In fact, it was just one small block in the Marina district that was burning, but the sensationalist press made it seem like it was much worse.
Don't let the media over-kill distort your outlook.
As for Muslims "taking over the city," my understanding is that most of them live in the outer districts, which is not where most tourists go.
