One could also ask this question: Should offensive speech against white, conservative Americans be banned by the federal government?

Hate speech isn't a thing unless you are actually giving a speech that encourages violence towards a group of people. The day to day interactions people have, the use of words, terms, phrases someone objects to, or failure to use them, and even an insult thrown your way isn't "hate speech".

I've been paying attention to the events on colleges campuses recently and realize, with some irony, the final outcome is NOT going to be banning speech or mandatory training in social justice/race/gender issues (maybe some will go down that road but it won't last long). It's going to be mandatory education in the right to free speech and expression and responsibility because that's the only way to learn. No, that doesn't mean everyone can start insulting everyone else with no consequence, but I believe it will soon mean you can't organize a group to contact someone friends, family and employer with the intent to get them fired just because you object to their politics or views.

Things WILL be banned, just not the things crybullies are asking for. It's inevitable that many of their ideas will be their downfall.
