I always tell my family why they are wrong. When they complain about anything related to government I just tell them to stop voting for democrats since they control every facet of state government.

We have no time or energy for that other stupid crap.
We discuss all topics, including politics, but luckily we are all Republicans. Now some more conservative than others, but still the same party. We do not discuss religion as we have a few family members that are agnostics and wine in the tummy mixed with religion from the lips can lead to someone saying something that should have been left unsaid. I think though, our favorite conversation lies with sports; all avid football fans.
