I read a number of articles saying that the Africans despise them, and much prefer American and Indian presence there. China will only bankrupt themselves by going there. Their economy isn't doing well .
The Chinese apparently see a lot of unpolluted farmland for sale cheap. Which they need.
Don't worry, the US is also there. The proxy wars will begin within the decade, I'm certain.
i think thats a great idea, maybe we can talk china into building a base in saudi arabia, let china become the world police and we can come home and start working on that fence
It won't be the last one you can count on that since Africa is where so many minerals etc. are. When China gets a strong toe hold in Africa they arn't going to be as nice as the Europeans to the Africans but they will have the respect and that is what counts.
Once the Chinese get a good foothold in Africa, we'll be seen as Mother Teresa compared to their East India Company.
The only thing white people ever gave Africa was racism, oppression, and then ruthless dictators who were the West's various puppets. The Chinese are actually investing in infrastructure in these countries. This is the old Chinese way of diplomacy, rely on tributary states and not colonies where the people are regularly massacred for upsetting the foreign elite. But, you're too Middle American white to see that, you don't know Chinese history and didn't grow up with Chinese family.
