Taiwan has finally been recognized as a country

It is official, ISIS is not a "terrorist group" they are just professional ****-stirrers. Someone wants WW3, and they want to drag all the major countries into it.

Hmmm....seems pretty astute in a way. Probably not what Taiwan wanted though. Not even remotely.

If it makes Taiwan feel better, I recognize it as a country and I am not a member of ISIS.

(Sorry couldn't resist, I do in fact know you in no way support ISIS, but rather you are supporting Taiwan)

I guess in this case, I do actually support something ISIS supports. Actually I have friends in Taiwan so I understand the issues they have with China a little more than your average American.

Taiwan (Listeni/ˌtaɪˈwɑːn/; Chinese: 臺灣 or 台灣; pinyin: Táiwān; see below), officially the Republic of China (ROC; Chinese: 中華民國; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Mínguó), is a sovereign state in East Asia. The Republic of China, originally based in mainland China, now governs the island of Taiwan, which constitutes more than 99% of its territory,[e] as well as Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, and other minor islands, following its loss of the mainland China territory in 1949 in the Chinese Civil War. This remaining area is also constitutionally called the "Free Area of the Republic of China" which is free from Communist rule.

Neighboring states include the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the west (mainland China), Japan to the east and northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Taiwan is one of the most densely populated countries in the world with a population density of 648 people per km2 in July 2015.[6] Taipei is the seat of the central government,[2] and together with the surrounding cities of New Taipei and Keelung forms the largest metropolitan area on the island.

Taiwan is a nation, it's just that most countries are too gutless to say it.

If anything, China(PRC) is part of Taiwan(ROC). China(PRC) claims sovereignty over Taiwan but never held it at any point during the Chinese civil war where as ROC did hold most of the mainland.

The Chinese say that it isn't....and why should we concern ourselves with whether it is or not?

I have no idea why the United States is hellbent on breaking Taiwan from China anyway. We have no dire national interests in the survival of Taiwan as an independent nation.
