What a great country...share the wealth.

Bring in more immigrants...continue to lower standards. Free school, food, lodging, healthcare for all. Cut medical professionals compensation. Raise pensions and SS for everyone. Raise fuel and electric rates. Tax the rich and corporations.

Can't figure why someone didn't think of this before. It sounds great.

A strategy for the future!

Well if we didn't have gender adjusted physical requirements that would become immediately apparent when only a small fraction of women would pass the test.
So, instead, we get to learn this common sense lesson the HARD way, when lives are on the line.

I assume sarcasm here...

It's hard to be a racist when - taking from the Obama line during the Trayvon days - she looks like she could be my sister.

A firefighter who was allowed to graduate the Fire Academy despite failing physical tests has already gone out on medical leave — just 10 days into the job, The Post has learned.

Probationary firefighter Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder injured herself Monday while conducting a routine check of equipment at Queens’ Engine 308 in South Richmond Hill. Getting off the truck, Doirin-Holder missed a step and landed on her left foot, suffering a fracture, sources said.

...
Firefighters called the tripping incident embarrassing — and alarming.

“If you’re going to get hurt in the firehouse checking a rig, what would happen at a fire?†an insider asked.
She also could not pass a functional test, and the 1.5 mile run. The run was shortened, and she still did not pass.
Doirin-Holder, who turns 40 this month, is one of 282 “priority hires†passed over in 1999 and 2000. Federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis ordered they must get preference as victims of past discrimination against minorities.
I'm sorry - the standards are there for a reason. You can get yourself or someone else killed if you can't do the job.

Then there's this...
Since she was injured on duty, she is eligible for a disability pension that would pay three-quarters of her annual salary, tax-free, if deemed unfit to return.

The average idiot out there who supports affirmative action, diversity hiring goals, and other such nonsense doesn't realize how much it costs us in lost lives, resources, and money.

This has of course been going on for decades, with plenty of workmen's comp cases filed routinely, with nary a peep from most of the liberal press/media. It wouldn't be PC to investigate such a premise, much less print/report it.
The idiots don't care in general everyday life because they are apathetic and assume it does not effect them.
But when their kid/s get denied entry into the college of their choice, it is too late to do anything about it.
Or when they call for the police and some woman LEO cannot fight herself out of a wet paper bag needs to stop a raging husband, the family gets hurt along with her.
Or when firefighter Shaniqua cannot get 350lb cousin Bubba out of a burning building, he becomes a stat.
Or EMS is called to save grandma but the idiot paramedic reads the cardiac rhythm wrong and administers the wrong medication, bye bye grandma.

I just wish the government would try this type of gender and race based social engineering in sports. The mindless idiots who couldn't care less about it in important professions like LE, EMS, etc. would scream bloody murder if their favorite sports teams were effected.

Like their hockey team being forced to take blacks.
Or their favorite basketball team were forced to take whites in proportion to their percentage of the population.
Or their favorite football teams were forced to have a certain percentage of women players as quarterbacks and linemen.
If all people are equal and are not represented in certain professions supposedly and only because of discrimination, then sports should be no exception, right?

Now if the sports idiots would argue only the best players are allowed to get the jobs, then why not apply the same standards to all professions?

Hey, at least she "passed" on the third try this time. Right?

I feel safer already.
It is not only firefighters, but cops as well. Next time there is a serious fight in the stands, watch how the women will hold back until men get it under control. They will either do crowd control, or jump in after things have calmed down.

As to standards being lowered, most people have no idea how bad it is. This not only applies to physical requirements, but also mental, physiological, intelligence, and even criminal backgrounds for cops.

Until we fill jobs in a gender-blind (and race-blind) way, there can NEVER be fairness in hiring. No sane person would deny a job to someone who can do that job, simply because of gender (or race)--even without the threat of lawsuits.

The problem is that Progressives want the workforce of a highly demanding job to exactly reflect the demographics of the general population. Just because you are in a group that gets special protections from our legal system, doesn't mean you should get the pay and status of ANY job you want, without having to put in the hours, skills development, and intellectual dedication that job requires of anyone NOT in a protected group.

You can't fix historical discrimination by imposing reverse discrimination today.

Feminism in action.....

Maybe we should quit trying to pretend that we are all equal. We each have our strengths, and we each have our weaknesses. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging our differences.

If I'm in danger of burning up in a fire and need rescued or carried out, I don't want a woman coming to try and save the day. Of course I'll be called a sexist for acknowledging the basic fact that women are not anatomically as strong as men.
