Sorry - I came in late. The republicans should come up with a solution to what?

Maybe, maybe not. I know I would support anything that worked regardless of who was proposing it.

But that's fine, don't carry or own a gun if you don't want to, but do not infringe on my right to do so. I like the odds much better carrying/owning a gun.

Also, your odds are no different than mine when it comes to carrying or not carrying a gun.....that is what false sense of security means, you think you have better odds than me just because you own a gun.

That should help you catch up with what a few people were talking about.

You make it sound like their work is fruitless.

The security checkpoints are a false sense of security. The do nothing to prevent terrorism, but they do give TSA agents a right to rummage through your stuff for no reason.

Regarding some earlier posts, murder is a subset of homicide.

Homicide is person A taking person B's life. Sometimes it is lawful, as in judicial homicide (a court-ordered execution) or justifiable homicide (self defense).

The rest of the time it is unlawful, which we call murder.

Well I keep seeing reports now and then about all the stuff they collect and all the things they prevent.

Don't those count?

Thanks for catching me up, Urban.

The republicans should come up with a solution for keeping guns out of criminals' hands?

Well, I'm not a republican (nor am I a criminal), but seems to me if we don't want criminals to have guns, we should put them in gun-free zones.

Best gun-free zone I'm aware of is a prison.

So,you would support:
Ending the catch and release, for profit prison system we currently employ,
Forcing all illegal immigrants to register and leave the US within a reasonable amount of time,
Holding parents accountable for the actions of their precious little angel when he goes on a violent rampage,
Reintroducing firearms safety training into elementary, middle, and high schools?

All of those would help to curb violence. Would you support them?
