They had substantially more ammunition than was necessary to put an abrupt end to the holiday party. They could have easily made certain every attendee was dead. They could have taken killed many more. Instead, fired off 60+/- rounds and departed.
Perhaps they had a bigger plan, elsewhere and were distracted by the prior altercation at the holiday party.
