Yes, it is. Compare the demographics of the cities in the US with high and low murder rates.

we could go on and on. The facts tell us there is a lot more to murder rates than gun ownership.
In Germany the guns are very regulated in where you can bring them, the types you can have, and the background checks are very stringent. At least according to some Germans Im friends with. Hunting is popular in parts of Germany however, which may explain high ownership rates.

I get your sarcasm but the reality is in Germany things like health insurance and weapons are very tightly regulated. Overregulation of business stunts growth but when it comes to societal safety some control methods are good. And yes, I do actually have several German friends who love comparing the US to the Deutchland.

Not sure if Walmart exists there but any store can only sell what the local government allows.

I used to live in Australia. The gun deaths there were very low. Guns could be bought but with restrictions of course. Getting drunk and bringing them to a bar and driving around with them would lead to prison. In Texas thats just a normal Friday night :-P

Every time you post, you show your ignorance of firearms and the laws pertaining to them. In Texas, as in most states, it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon in an establishment which generates more than 51% of its revenue from on-site consumption. So no, it isn't a normal Friday night in Texas, unless you are hanging out with habitual offenders.

As for Australia, gun deaths there have always been low. We aren't Australia, though, and since concealed carry laws have become more permissive our firearms homicide rate is at near historic lows.

The Texas was a joke but many bars have kitchens or full resturaunts attached and likely generate at least half of their revenue from food. And how exactly is that law enforced anyway, do they do financial audits of resturaunts if youre caught?

Something along the lines of you can't be on illicit drugs or have an alcohol level of above the legal limit while carrying a concealed gun or risk automatic imprisonment would probably do better.

Sigh.... That law exists as well, as far as I know it is illegal to carry while intoxicated in every state which issues CCW permits.

actually yes, the states are tasked with determining just how much of an establishments revenue is generated by alcohol, and how much by food. and even the cities do the same thing, and they use the establishments own revenue numbers to achieve that, since these establishments have to report to the city and the state.
