250 rounds per gun per quarter is about the minimum to stay really good with that rifle/handgun. That's a thousand rounds per year right there.

Actually, when you look at the wars, that many rounds would not go very far: 50,000 rounds per kill in Vietnam war? [Archive] - SOCNET: The Special Operations Community Network. Killing a trained and prepared enemy isn't that easy.
