The Republicans need to say they will vote for gun restrictions for the no flyer list and then work immediately to reform the incompetence and problems with the no flyer list -- thousands of ordinary people are on it because they have the same name as people on it. This included Ted Kennedy, 75 people who work for Homeland Security, and some journalists.
All those secret lists are maintained by the Executive branch. Congress has no authority over them.
Thus the "we need" part. The fact is that is no way to have knowledge of all these people ahead of time. It's impossible without complete legal immunity and unlimited resources. The government has, nor should have, neither of those. The same way you probably won't know a psychotic mass shooter until they start shooting
Here's the problem. We had another terrorist attack on US soil. In response, our national joke of a President calls for more gun control.
Obama didn't explain how more gun control will prevent terrorism. Maybe you'd like to give it a shot.
