Anti-Shia anti-Islam.. No difference

Just google History of US Immigration laws and look at 50's, 60's and most recently 90's.

You'll find Trump is right in line with existing US Immigration law, passed by a Dem Congress and signed into law by a Dem president.

Show us in the article you posted it says you had to denounce anything?

Now unlike Muslims, Iranians were not necessarily supportive of Islamic terrorism. Many were and are opponents of it. Khomeini didn't represent Iran as a country, but his Islamist allies. So Trump's proposal is far more legitimate than Carter's action. Carter targeted people by nationality. Trump's proposal does so by ideology.
Classifying Iranians as a group is closer to racism than classifying people by a racist supremacist ideology that calls for the mass murder and enslavement of non-Muslims, as ISIS is doing today.
It does say that though. I shouldn't have to explain why the notion "Muslims are terrorists but Iranians are not" is crazy.

and this:

Interestingly enough, Carter did this by invoking the Nationality Act of 1952. A law originally opposed by Democrats for its attempt to restrict Communist immigration to the United States.
“If this oasis of the world should be overrun, perverted, contaminated, or destroyed, then the last flickering light of humanity will be extinguished,” Senator McCarran said of the law. He was a Democrat.
So Carter using a Red Scare McCarthy law to create one the worst relationships the US has with any country is a good justification of Donald Trump banning people on basis of religion.

There are currently 6,000 Muslim U.S. Service Members serving overseas. Do you propose that we not let them back home due to their religion?

We have to - they are citizens/residents of the USA. We don't have to let anyone else though.

Vast majority of Americans don't want Muslims to come to this country.

The sunni are anti-shia. There were lot of Shia muslims (iranian) allowed in if they were against the regime too. it wasn't a total Iranian ban.

Yes, when I too read the title, I envisioned prisoners lined up for leg shackles.

I completely forgot about this. So it's ok for Carter to ban them and they weren't trying to kill us on our own soil. Yet, our Muslim Terrorist Loving Chief won't ban them?

I'm waiting for them to blow up a school, sporting event or just open up in small town America. Sure, let's cry ethical and moral values while we let the fox in the henhouse. The hypocrisy is mind blowing. Do what Carter did he was a liberal and was the worst President in history until Obumbler came along.

I will however give Carter much credit for his housing initiatives for the poor. Well done.
Bush didn't ban Saudi's after 9/11, but I'm guessing you don't share equal outrage for that.

Carter loved America, Obama wants to destroy America.
