Now leftists want to steal the land and homes of the middle class. And they would really like it if you didn't know about it. They think theft is their right.

Let’s get rid of private housing.

Plenty of time and effort have lately gone into analyzing a host of related crises—homelessness, unaffordable urban real estate, devastating gentrification, and a housing bubble whose burst landed us in the Great Recession. But the explanations tend to be incomplete, the attributions shortsighted, and the policies rearguard. For every liberal who insists that deregulating zoning laws will curb skyrocketing urban housing prices, there’s a conservative who blames the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act for the housing bubble, and none of them is anywhere near the mark.

It's an article from The Nation. It may as well be from The Peoples Daily.

If these people advocate getting rid of home ownership they can lead by example and start with their own.

The author is certainly a far-leftist nutter. I suspect he would benefit from either getting a job, having his disability benefits ceased, or simply stay on his medications.

I knew a person like him back in law school. He claimed to be a 'communist' and loved to argue that everyone should be paid exactly the same, whether they collect garbage, or direct a corporation. I imagine his feelings changed some after graduating from law school. But who knows?

American progressive ideology has always been against private land ownership.

From the article above:

Quote:
If you don’t realize what this is all about, let me spell it out for you. These people HATE Freedom, and they HATE the Self-Reliant lifestyle.
The government, at every level in this country, has become corrupted by power hungry politicians who are desperate to control every little aspect of your life, including where and how you live your lives.
They hate home ownership because it allows you a small slice of freedom; the chance to live your life without the government butting into every little aspect of what you do. They want a bunch of dependent drones piled into government approved housing units, who they can then control and dictate policy to.
That is really what it is all about. That and this leftist, socialist notion that everything has to be divided up equally so no one is left out. Even if it is forcibly taken from those who produce and given to those who do not.
