Training? Why and and who are we training? They have been constantly fighting over there since at least 1978. Fighting is the ONE thing they don't need training. How is it after 13 years of training the Afghan military, they still aren't an effective military force for the government? When an American joins the military, how many years of training does he/she get? How do we take American civilians and turn them into soldiers in a short time, and the Afghans, who are virtually born with a gun in their hands, are useless? The problem isn't training. The problem is that Afghanistan is a fictional country. No body is willing to die for it. They will fight for their tribe, or their religious sect, but no one seems to be willing to fight or die for Afghanistan. That is the problem that our government leaders are unwilling to admit.

I'd say that's true of several countries over there, especially Iraq. The British were kind of willy nilly when they drew some of the boundaries after pulling out of the ME. Clearly, the Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds needed separate territories.
I wish we'd stop getting involved. They are going to have to fight and draw their own boundaries, just like we did a couple hundred years ago. There will be no peace in the Middle East until someone wins a war. That's how boundaries are drawn. They are drawn with graves, and freedom is paid for in blood. We already paid for ours. Let them pay for their own.
I hope it turns out they just partied wayyyyyy to hard, and ended up on a crazy crack smoking non stop party all the way to Las Vegas. And DHS will find them passed out with their brains fried, pants down, liquor bottles everywhere, in a cheap motel, with 2 tranny hookers, hey I can't blame them, we all been there.
If it ain't the above scenario, than it could be a really bad thing.
This happens pretty regularly, 99.99999999999999% of the time the missing trainees discovered the joys of America: McDonald's, pizza, movie theaters, shopping malls, strip clubs, etc and want to enjoy it.
NFN but if one of the "joys" of America is McDonalds, your bar is set way too low.

They were being trained in aircraft maintenance for a particular aircraft, nothing to do with weapons training.
Trainees are allowed to go off base on the weekends, and they failed to report back to the program Monday.
The military has no reason to believe they present a threat to anyone, said Karns.
I wonder which one is worse
1. They are GONE
2. They couldn't find them.
