It set a bad precedent to give in to MOB blackmail. Those kids signed a contract with the University - it did NOT contain a "we won't play unless the President of the University resigns" clause, nor did it contain a clause to support MOB actions over the good of the Football program and the University that pays for their College Education and living expenses.
MIZZOU is a State University and gets their funding from Missouri Taxpayers. IF the Coaching Staff can't control the Team (and they showed they can not/will not) then it's the JOB of the elected State Legislature to protect the Taxpayers.

Future recruits would not touch Mizzou with a 10 foot pole. It is simply a know win situation if we want College Football or Basketball to remain (high revenue, high profile) as it is today.
I didn't say "pull scholarships" ..... that is what a State Rep is now attempting.
Future recruits should not "touch Mizzou" now after seeing what's going on there. The easiest way for College Football or Basketball to go down the tubes right now ...... is giving in to MOB boycotts/strikes.
It set a nasty precedent and the MOB, BlackLivesMatter and Activists all saw that it WORKED. Don't think these SnowFlakes won't try this again.
My youngest went to college on a full athletic scholarship - it's not an easy route.
Essentially you are under control of the Athletic program and Coaches - I saw some pretty awful stuff and the coach was eventually fired.
You may think that 90 players on a football scholarship would "strike" for a 24 year old drama queen Grad Student -- but I don't. The Coach was wrong, he gave in to MOB pressure.
In regards to the Mizzou Football team that threatened to strike if campus president did not step down a state rep will introduce a bill that strips players from scholarships.
He said quote, “If you're going to engage in this type of behavior, we'll find someone else who wants to play,”
In principal the state rep is correct, but in reality it would destroy the Mizzou football program for years to come.

I know all about that. I worked in a collegiate athletic program for 19 years. Baseball coach for most of it and then later took over the "Development" position as an Assistant AD. I could write a book on the things I have been part of. Retired now but work as an "Inclusion and Diversity Specialist", which gives me the opportunity to visit campuses in the Northeast part of the country on a semi- regular basis.
I definitely think there should be some consequence involvedwhen holding a major university hostage. However, I'm not sure it's a state rep's place to do that. Maybe Mizzou and the private donors should bethe ones to yank future scholarships. And, by the way, I'm probably a lone Mizzou wolf, but I don't now andnever did think Gary Pinkel was a heroThat football team has been a problem (drugs, sexual abuse) for a lot ofyears, many of those years under Pinkel's direction

It would not be the state destroying the program, it would be the players themselves if they choose to engage that in that type of behavior.
As to the way the story is framed/titled, I disagree. This new BLM rubbish is just that, and very disruptive to the school.
It is an extension of some liberal colleges allowing the same type of foolishness because of the Michael Brown protests. Black students were asking for time off and/or ability to delay important tests due to mental anguish.
I wonder how those liberal administrators feel now knowing they caved in to their feel good liberal tendencies, only to find out MB was a criminal thug, and the whole "hands up, don't shoot" was a false narrative?
