Remind me again why the GOP threw Boehner under the bus and cheered his leaving?

It's not GOP only, but boy howdy if the biggest ticket items aren't for Republican priorities; i.e. tax cuts for corporations and wealthy investors.

expansion and improvements to the VA

it even puts a pay freeze on congress and the potus/vpotus

again its a funding bill for the FY, and many of those GOOD things were due to expire or needed tobe added
The things you think are important....made up a trivial amount of the bill really. I posted a link earlier breaking down the cost of each item. By far the biggest ones were to business and wealthy folks.

this is the FUNDING for the entire government for the rest of the FY

there are many GOOD things... and some NOT SO GOOD (or stupid) things

I would rather pass the funding with a few thing I think are a waste, than to not fund the nessecary things

The Dems focused on immigrants and visa programs.

They got huge wins there.

And those tax cuts were already in place so they are not new..just now made permanent.

Child care tax credit, energy credits DO benefit middle class people.

Well now don't the left say that Repubs are for big business ?

Where's the Dem sponsored tax cuts for the middle class ?

It's a huge win for the Republican ticket in November.

You saw the numbers. Practically every GOP rep voted for it, and over 100 Dems against it. If I understood correctly, this will nearly double the deficits.

Deficits and debt only matter when the Democrats control the purse strings. As this bill clearly shows, Republicans don't believe they are important when they are in charge. But should the Democrats retake either house of Congress and/or the White House next year, watch how the GOP goes on a tear about the debt and blames in on those free-spending Democrats. Happens again and again and again, and their constituents buy it every time.

No, it won't. The $680 billion cost of the tax package is the cost over ten years. The budget deficit (an annual number) for FY 15 was $435 billion.

Only some were made permanent. Others were extended five years. Others only two years (and only one year forward, plus one retroactively, back to when the extenders last expired at the end of 2014).
