Something that has baffled me is why the Left supports Muslims and Islam so fervently. Just today Michael Moore is outside of Trump Tower holding a sign that says "We are all Muslim" as just one example.

My question to any of the Liberals that read this is.

Why do Liberals defend Muslims and Islam with such a passion when they hold almost the complete opposite world view that you do, they detest gays, subjugate women and children, are typically very religious etc..?

It seems to me that the biggest group that would stand at odds with Muslims & Islam would be the left yet the exact opposite is true.

Ah. its not that simple. I can speak for my point of view.

1. Refugees are trying to escape the people who are terrorists. Throwing people back into the burning building is not the kind of person i want to be.
2. The threat of terrorists is vastly overstated. DUI is a bigger issue.
3. Muslim are actually for the most part just as peaceful as others. they've recently been radicalized, and we need to understand that those radicals are the issue. Not the average Muslim.
4. Theres a ton of history around this sort of thing. Generally when we act the way many of the Republican candidates want us too, its been to our shame.

As for their actions regarding gays, and women....well...to be honest I hear the same sort of nonsense from a lot of Christians. And I dont see us throwing them out of the country.

I really don't care that much about Islam, but as an American, I care that this country behave with honor. and as a Christian, I believe in following the teaching of Jesus.
That means showing love and compassion to those who need shelter and assistance.
It matters not what religion those people follow, or form where they have come.

I stand with moderate Muslims who are capable of respecting differing opinions, to which there are many. I do not stand with radical Muslims. However, I also do not stand with our military and it's abuse of power to destabilize the Middle East (which creates more radicals) for our imperial agenda.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Simple as that.

Most Muslims are not terrorists or jihadists. The same hold true for most Christians. There will always be extremists in any large group.

I don't have to agree with everything another person believes in order to defend their right to free thought and self-determination. I also believe that every human being deserves to be treated with respect and to be judged (when one must judge at all) as an individual on their own actions.
