My observation is people like to live with people who make around the same money as they do. You know, if you can afford my rent/my house I'm okay with you living here no matter what you are. If it takes 15 single guys to pay the rent, they don't want you in the neighborhood whether you are a white fraternity or a bunch of illegals.

Im really not sure what your position is on this. I'm going to give you a scenario. Totally made up.

White rich liberal lives in a big house. Rich town, median income 150,000, 93% white, 5% Asian 2% other. (I would've said 100% white but the libs will jump in and correct me as to there being no place 100% white, without actually addressing any of my points).

This town is next to a large, high crime city. Let's say that city is 40% white, 35% Hispanic and 25% black. Being this diverse, let's add some racial tension to the mix.

Those liberals in that rich town have NO RIGHT to point at any segment of the population in said city and go "you guys need to be more tolerant and get along better!". YOU DONT LIVE HERE. YOUR KIDS DONT GO TO SCHOOL HERE.

Once again, totally made up scenario, but have I made my point clear?

Im about 90% sure this is a repost of a Previous thread, why not simply bump the other one.... Or was it closed because it devolved into racism ???

I'm not sure what post you're referring to. I haven't been on the forum that long and don't have time to check the massive influx of threads in this section. This is my own personal observation, so it's different than someone else's, regardless. This isn't about Boston, it's just merely me explaining that I know these things from experience rather than getting my information from Tumblr like a lot of the left. But whichever thread you're referring to- I wouldn't be surprised if it did devolve into that. I'm surprised this thread hasn't turned into a gun or an Isis debate by now.

But back to the issue at hand..........

It's not just liberals. I'm conservative. I don't look for cheap rent. I look for the most I can afford because I want to live in a nice neighborhood.

Nobody knows your income. Make it simple. If you can afford to live where I live I don't care what you are but if someone else is paying the tab (think college students sharing rent or government subsidies) or you have 10 people in the house (think illegal aliens or frat house) to be able to afford to live there, we don't want you.

Plus, it's more like "neighborhoods" than towns or cities.

Now I think your point is not what they do but what they say other people should do that makes them liberal hypocrites. I agree.

To be fair, there are brave souls - liberal, conservative, and everything in-between or otherwise, who serve underprivileged communities, not reaping (too many) financial rewards, but making a difference.

Those people should be commended.

Correct.

Sharks with Lasers I agree. But all too often, I find the opposite. I've never met a yup in my city, but met plenty in Boston who will come up to bat for the people who cause trouble here. After all, convicted felons vote democrat.

I also really want to say something about sharks with frickin laserbeams attached to their frickin heads, but that would go in the entertainment forum

Leftists like to status signal and in the modern world boasting about being open minded and tolerant is one way to show "progressive" thinking, which is another way to show that you aren't one of "those kinds" of White people. Most lefties haven't really thought their positions through and get irate when they are challenged on a view they hold. All they know is that their viewpoint is supposed to be the correct one, so they parrot certain platitudes about equality and diversity, even when their own personal lives don't reflect what they say.
