What's ironic is that while the GOP narrative is that "Hillary is a liar," the GOP candidates have been fact-checked and are telling whopper lies and their base just doesn't care.
What I find refreshing about the Democratic debates is that when Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders debate on any topic, it's a real discussion, with both candidates evidently well informed about the issues -- while the Republican debates are completely dumbed down -- with leading candidates give credence to junk science regarding vaccines; Cruz telling us that they can pin-point carpet bombings (a contradiction in terms) and telling us how wonderful the gold standard would be; Trump not knowing what the nuclear triad is, etc.
When it comes to lies, Factcheck.org calls Trump The ‘King of Whoppers.' saying, "He stands out not only for the sheer number of his factually false claims, but also for his brazen refusals to admit error when proven wrong."
I agree. You read what conservatives think, and you would think Obama, Hillary and all Democrats are not only liars but intent on bringing down our country. You read what those more liberal think (like me), and in comparison to the cast of GOP characters, the DEMS seem like saints! Also there is no doubt that so far the DEM debates have been far more presidential in terms of look, sound and substance than any GOP debate by far.
There are the occasional comments in these threads that seem more inclined toward balance and reason, though far too few compared to the rest, so we get what we deserve I guess, but no doubt we can do better...
I noticed an Air Force commercial on TV last night that includes clips/quotes of Reagan, JFK, GW and ending with Clinton, all for the purpose of inspiring our next wave of "America's finest." Maybe we should try to consider the same sort of even-handed appreciation for what both sides offer in terms of balance.

I have no idea what "PC stuff" you mean. I want to have policies that reduce the number of radicals that ISIS recruits. Giving cause to them believing that the U.S. is at war with their religion works against that goal.
Honestly, my husband will want to, me I do not know. Hillary is not even up against a Democrat but she will play socialist and we all know that it will be a smooze and love fest for Hillary.

You let the government take over healthcare and there goes the healthcare system. We'll no longer have the best hospitals and technology and procedures in the world.
I can't bleieve that everyone, Republican and Democrat, doesn't see that government serves no other purpose than to get in the way.
The government takes care of healthcare in Canada just fine, and delivers excellent healthcare for pennies on the dollar compared to what the U.S. spends. Medicare operates more efficiently than than the for-profit health insurance companies.
When has private industry ever done anything but try to maximize profits? Why do you need a blood-sucking leech like the health insurance companies as middle-men? Deliver healthcare directly to the citizens and this country would save billions.
I'll wager that the average factory worker probably works harder in a week than an athlete does, yet they'll make more for one game than the worker will in his entire life...
But people pay the ticket prices to see the athlete. The athlete provides a service, and people voluntarily pay for it.... Fair and free market...
That explains why, for example, women in the WNBA get paid so mucbh less than men in the NBA. They do the same thing, so if a Democrat had their way, they'd get the same pay.
Yet, the women in the WNBA don't draw near the crowd or the advertising, because there is less demand for their talent, so why should they get paid the same?
Free market rules.
But the free market doesn't need to rule everything. Everything that is determined by the free market is not always the best outcome for the common good. There's nothing god-like about the free market. It's not always the best choice for everything.
I'm not talking about regulating professional athletes' salaries, let the free market determine that. But when it comes to regulating the costs of healthcare for example, a for-profit system is never going to put the patient first, it is going to put profits first. There are some things, like protecting the environment, or education, that you cannot leave up to the free market because the free market is all about profits, not ethics, common good, sustainability, etc.
