By the looks of it Ramadi is pretty much taken back, and Mosul is next. It seems the "Arab boots & US Air" (with special ops) is working. Good thing we did not rush into sending US ground forces.

Iraqi forces to retake Mosul from Islamic State after Ramadi secured: PM | Reuters

Iraq's armed forces will move to retake the major northern city of Mosul from Islamic State once they capture the western city of Ramadi, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Friday.

Capturing Mosul would deprive the militant group of its biggest population center in both Iraq and Syria, effectively abolishing the state structure of IS in Iraq, depriving it of a major source of funding and dealing a blow to its influence.

The capture of Ramadi would give the army a major psychological boost in its move toward Mosul.

The only way this works is if a prick like Saddam is in power and if that happens the question can be asked, what was the point to begin with?

They weren't defeated, they are just sitting back waiting for things to calm down again.

It looks like ISIS is losing Ramadi, and will lose Mosul, and Saddam is not there I think it is good they are doing it on their own as opposed to relying on US ground forces.

Saddam did it with little effort.

Yes, gassing people is easy, but the goal is to defeat ISIS without killing all the civilians.

Far more have been killed the last 12 years than Saddam ever killed. Isis is also the civilians.

Let's see. Under Saddam Ramadi was a peaceful, prosperous city with functional services and no ISIS. It is now in ruins and inhabitable with an uncertain future and this is being celebrated? Only an Obama apologist sees it that way. I like to know what you said when Bush went into Iraq.

Sure, Saddam was a rock star and Obama made him go away. Thanks for the history lesson

If you don't think ISIS defeat is a good thing, then so be it.

Maybe if you didn't make everything about Obama, you would not see this as bad news.

We can't turn back the clock and bring Saddam back. It is what it is.

Correct. Iraq will have to do it without Saddam, and I am glad to see some progress is being made.
