(note) I didn't say the video lied. I said the officer lied. You know that though.

I live in northeast Ohio. I hope not! Especially not with the positive momentum that is happening in this region in terms of the development going on here. Furthermore, rioting and destroying the property of innocent people does not solve anything! Having said that, did the cops overreact? Yeah probably. They probably could have handled it a little better, instead of being a little itchy on the trigger finger. However; I also blame the 12 year old, and the fact that his parent(s) did not bang it into his head that under no circumstances do you walk around the neighborhood waving the thing around! Walking around in an area that isn't always the safest and waving around what looks to be a real gun is a good way to get your a** shot by either a cop, or some gangbanger!

Just looking at it from both angles.

I've seen the video. He was not pointing it at the cops. His hand was by his waistband, that's all you can see. He was shot before anyone could see anything, including the cops.

And he was also walking around the park waving the gun around before the police arrived, the blame is on him and his bad decision making. I'll blame the cop when the fault is theirs, I don't see this as one of those times.

It is the fault of the cops. They pulled up, got out & immediately shot him while he was just standing there. It's as plain as day. Rewatch the video.

According to your opinion. According to mine the majority of the blame is on Mr. Rice.

Ah. Well maybe you'd say the same thing if some cops pulled up & shot your kid the second they got out of the car. I'm sure you'd be nodding your head "Yep, he's totally at blame. Even with plain as day video footage". Sure.

Bla bla bla, what if this, what if that.

Any child of mine would be taught proper respect and use of a firearm. They would know you can't walk around in public waving a gun.
