Hey all. I'm looking for suggestions for art classes for a 7 yr. old who thinks she is Picasso and already says "art is my life"

We currently live in Florida and I have her in a great 4 year program that meets once a week, year round, for $75 per month. It is actually a very tough class where she is learning to use different mediums and techniques.

We are moving to Cary in July and I really need to find a similar program in the area. Do any of you know of any children's art classes (not workshops) that are affordable and instructional as opposed to just fun. I'm not looking for a program like KidzArt, which are offered at most schools.

Thanks for your help!

I'm sure if you give us enough time, we can create a controversy on the issue.

LOL! Yeah, like why art? Why not theater or dance? Or why not a sport instead? What do you have against those?!?!
(I think she's just anti-sports, theater, and dance!)

Do it, what do you really loose? There is no real downside to expanding the mind.

Worse comes to worse she has a hobby she can use to express herself and enjoy the rest of her life.

HaHa. Maybe this thread should be renamed, "Why do liberals indoctrinate their children with art classes". Or "Why don't liberal parents let their kids play rugby?"

*** Mods, please don't move this thread to the Raleigh forum. Apparently, it's in the right place after all.

Art is for liberals. Conservatives hate art. Art to a Republican is like a cross to a vampire. I don't know why you want to expose your kids to art. What next, homosexuality? You must be a Democrat!
