Leaked Documents Reveal Dothan Police Department Planted Drugs on Young Black Men For Years, District Attorney Doug Valeska Complicit | The Henry County Report

Alabama police department allegedly planted evidence on black men, resulting in 'almost 1,000' wrongful convictions

after a decade a few cops were "brave" enough to come forward and admit they witnessed bad cops doing bad things.

edit: these cops are brave, gotta remember cops get killed for coming from behind that blue wall

And people who are on the outside looking in cannot figure out why there is no love lost between the black community and the police department. We all know, who grew up in inner-cities, that you could be killed or arrested for things that you did not do, by the police. I knew people who were stopped by the police, and had money on them....not from drugs.....and the police confiscated it.

"Covered up by the district attorney".

This needs changed. The D.A.'s office has to be removed from the process of investigating police officers.

Not a black thing. Cops have been planting evidence on people of all races for decades. The drug war has certainly provided them greater opportunity to do so. End it ASAP and abolish any police union

How horrible...

I'm glad, though, that some of these cops came forward. It's a shame, though, that these innocent men were framed and suffered the consequences, and also that it took years for them to do what's right..

I knew people who had the same things happen to them by police - officers who stole their money and if they "talked back" they would be arrested and charged with some sort of crime even though they had done nothing.

Also, cases like this, which are commonplace in inner cities is the reason why I roll my eyes about "crime statistics" and about people to claim "if black people didn't commit crimes they wouldn't be blahblahblah" in regards to discrimination.

I always tell people that the main reason that black Americans have higher "crime statistics" is because black Americans are harrassed more by cops. If the cops treated white people especially the same way they do blacks, then whites would have much higher arrests, especially in relation to drugs since they are more likely to do drugs than black people anyway. Whites already have REALLY high arrest rate for DUI, mostly IMO due to black people knowing that DWB (driving while black) is a real thing so black people just don't drink and drive too often as they are used to being harrassed while driving and don't want to give police any room to trump up additional charges on them.
