...while insisting that a bunch of armed men seizing a federal installation while vowing to 'kill or be killed if necessary' -- and with a track record of attracting violent cop-killers to their cause -- aren't terrorists.
Oregon standoff: Activists says they'll leave if residents want them gone
Nigel Duara and Molly Hennessy-FiskeContact Reporters
A leader of the activists occupying a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon’s snowy back country said he and others would agree to stand down and leave if local residents ask them “directly” to end their campaign.
Sad commentary on the state of mind produced by those who poison the thought processes of the unsuspecting low brows like Miller and his even dumber cohort wife. I don't think this government is totally above board on all counts, but---I'm not going to pursue that with a violent response. Many people here in America have come to distrust the government, but the separating factor that connotes common sense seems lost in the thinking of the Miller types, we know this latest round of Taliban style religiosity most likely will have it's share of nutjobs who see their actions as a thing that equates to those of Washington and Jefferson.
If these idiots have taken children inside the refuge with them we will again face the horrific problem of how to take them down without harming those children, is this part of their notion of freedom, to take the lives of those without a say in their own matters? These folks need to be taught a lesson, we should prosecute them for posing the threat of actions that they damn well mean to inflict on those who legally come for them for the purpose of enforcing our laws. Life in prison for those who take up arms against us.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad and pathetic.
I'd be surprised and disappointed if the gov't didn't have a court order allowing the monitoring of their cell phone, landline and internet communications - to overhear their situation and plans and determine who they are coordinating with on the outside. That could explain the delay in cutting off electricity.
(In short, this is a protest to combat the federal government's stupidity, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with race. Also, it sounds to me like the Hammonds and those who organized the protest are anything but "nut-jobs", although they probably -- I'm just guessing here -- could be classified as right-wing conservatives who still believe in the rights of private property owners.)
You literally just cited a right-wing blog as a source.
When did City-Data get taken over by Stormfront? Man, back in the day, this place used to be a little more balanced.

I sincerely apologize. When I went looking for info, when this story first developed, that was the most comprehensive site I found that contained any history. Subsequent news sources have definitely been more balanced!
