When are the dems going to learn Americans don't want more gun control.
They're not interested. Nor are they interested in the fact that gun homicides peaked in '93. Not the percentage, or rate...the actual number!
18,253 in 1993. 11,101 in 2013.
The rate per 100,000 has decreased from about 7 to about 3.5 during that same 20 year period. In fact, just looking at the various measurements, Americans are much safer today than they were 20 years ago. I was surprised. I hope you are, too.
A majority of Americans now support tougher laws controlling gun sales, according to a Gallup poll released Monday. In a year marked by a series of deadly mass shootings, 55 percent of Americans favor stricter gun control legislation—an increase of 8 percentage points from last year.
Nearly eight-in-ten (79%) favor laws to prevent people with mental illness from purchasing guns, 70% back the creation of a federal database to track all gun sales, while a smaller majority (57%) supports a ban on assault-style weapons.

In other words, people are largely pro-gun control—it’s the politicians who aren’t.
Maybe there actually ARE a few politicians in D.C. who THINK!
As in: Would this amendment/law have actually PREVENTED any of the mass shootings that have occurred?
If the answer is NO, it is probably unnecessary!
One can only hope that there are enough people in the House and Senate with that kind of common sense to be able to make a difference!

Let's see, what was that recent Gallup Poll that was reported here? the one about the most notable male and female in the world, or something like that? the "winners" were hillary and barack!
IIRC, out of 805 people polled, barack got 19 votes, and hillary 12!

You got it, I do not believe in polls. IMO, they are exercises in statistical anomalies!

If you want it, it doesn't mean majority of citizens want it. I'd oppose any more restrictions on guns, and I wrote to all politicians who are supposed to represent me in Congress or Senate (Federal and State) how I feel.
The strength of NRA is not in its money or lobbyists, it's in sheer number of active members who would follow NRA scores each election.
