It isn't a zero sum issue and while we prioritize the government's responses based upon the immediacy of issues confronting the nation we have established a government designed for the expressed purpose of multi-tasking.

Define social issues please. Abortion, school prayer, bringing the Bible into the classroom, same sex marriage are issues that do not interest me. The government needs to let people manage their own private lives.

I don't want to see homeless children and old folks begging on the streets. There are always going to be people who need help. I know people who have moved out of "welfare" into jobs in the private sector. There should be benchmarks they have to meet.

Frankly, I'm more concerned with fiscal issues and wasteful, senseless wars

Security issues.

Without security, financial and social issues don't much matter.
