You an I were not discussing anyone taking guns away in the last few replies back and forth, but nice diversion. We were discussing the 2nd amendment and it actually promotes one to the temple of those taking the constitution and wiping their ass with it.

Nothing in the laws have changed?

He did nothing except issue guidance on current laws.
Fair points, many of these are proposals or in the rule making process such as the restrictions for purchase of high end guns through corporations and trusts.

Lacking further action most are just proposals except for more agents and funding for research and mental health so why all the drama. Going through the proposals one at a time what's not to like.

Default This is only the beginning...there is so much more

Obama has a lot on his plate for the last year of his term. Here are just a few of what might be in store, all through Executive Order.

Tax ammunition into oblivion and encourage the prosecution of gun manufacturers and bullet producers for shootings using their products.

Feds will buy up as much ammunition as possible in order to create shortages

The prohibition of purchasing a gun in one state and transporting that same gun across state lines.

New Federal regulations which will permit, without a warrant, any civil authority to enter a home of a registered gun owner to check for gun safety when it comes to the “proper” storage of guns. The new regulations will be devised to prevent one from using the gun in a moment’s notice. (Isn't that when you might need it for self-defense -- at a moment's notice?)

There is discussion among DOJ officials about limiting how many guns, in the aggregate, can be stored in one geographic area (rationing?)

Probably after a false flag event, an Executive Order will be issued to overturn all conceal and carry laws currently in place in several states.

No veteran will be allowed to own a gun for an unspecified period of time following their discharge from the service.

The scope of gun free zones will be expanded. The IRS will be given policing powers on new gun control regulations. Bank accounts and homes can be seized for failure to comply. Further, RICO statutes can be utilized among the non-compliant.

According to EO 13603, the President, or the head of any federal agency that he shall designate, can conscript “persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation,” in both “peacetime and times of national emergency.” Sec. 502. Consultants. Read it for yourself in the link.
Obama, and his fellow communists, can seize any resource, property, or person at any time for any reason, including being able to force that person to perform assigned labor without being paid.
That is, forced, “uncompensated employment”.

Oh, there's so much more on his plate, and none of it is good.

This is unenforceable, as it is not law. Obama has no authority to make law. Secondly, "executive orders" may only apply to the administration and government agencies. They do not apply to private institutions, citizens, etc.

Therefore, there is nothing to compel anyone to follow his "order."

Obama is not a King, though he may think he is. Do not comply.
I think The Onion wrote an article about you:
The Onion: Area Man Passionate Defender Of What He Imagines Constitution To Be

The President is acting well within his authority as President -- such as defining the ambiguous terms relating to gun dealers. The issue is explained here. There is no doubt this is within Presidential authority.

I know how it is easy to rant that anything you don't like is unconstitutional but that's not how this really work.

According to the Obot talking heads his actions will save hundreds or thousands of lives a year. I guess the blood of thousands is on his hands as he waited for seven years. Why didn't he take action? Why did he let those people die?

Don't look now, but a lot of Conservative sheep have joined the herd as well. Just have a gander at this thread. By their responses, you'd think he banned AR15's through executive fiat or something.

He had an election to lose. Now he only has Clintons election to concern himself with and he really doesn't care...

Ah yes, I forgot about that one. Well, that might actually be the only substantive thing he actually did, and I don't know all the details on that one so it might amount to nothing as well.

I think the drama stems from the build up that led up to his announcement. He spent weeks letting on like he was about to do something big and controversial, and that festered for a long time... Then he pulled a bait and switch and held a big ceremony to issue an order that he could have quietly issued from his desk without much fuss at all. Both sides ate it up and it had a deliberate, two pronged effect. Gun advocates got riled up, which fueled the perception of gun control advocates who think they got some kind of long sought win, boosting their morale.

Both reactions were borne of ignorance. If people would bother to just educate themselves on what actually happened, Liberals would realize that Obama in reality didn't tighten background checks, and Conservatives would realize he didn't abuse his authority by writing any new laws and there's nothing to be angry about.

I was going to take the time to respond to this post point by point but I think it'd be easier to just tell you to go back to info wars. Alex Jones needs to tell you about a FEMA camp somewhere.

The even better question is, why did he wait until he was safely reelected in to his second term before even so much as calling for more gun control, let alone taking unilateral action? He had ample opportunity? Aurora, Tucson.....

See, what people are all too happy to forget, is the fact that the same "cowardice" Obama accuses Republicans in the House and Senate of, he himself was guilty of in his first term after those shootings.

So how is he any better?
