No, they are using their ELECTED positions to represent their constituency that wants the University to level a more appropriate punishment.

If voters disagree with that then they can "fire" the elected politician.

In short, you are demanding that the representatives of the people not do their jobs.

It's especially stupid and ironic that you mention bullying and intimidation with regards to people complaining about the professor via the proper channels while not infringing on anyones constitutional rights.

I guess your view of miniscule and mine are quite different!
She's a sheltered pampered loon but when politicians get involved things never get better. Don't send your kid there. Don't attend the football games......not attending the football games will get their attention far quicker than a politician will.

Wow. You must be really interesting to work with if what she did is minor.

True free speech is the most critical underpinning to all of our freedoms. Slavery was abolished, religious authoritarianism, and the acceptance of gays in this country are all attributable to our unfettered, unobstructed freedom of speech.

That is why I can't trust the Liberals who want to see it abolished in the name of Political Correctness on college campuses Nor the Conservatives who want to see it abolished in the name of bigotry in street protests.

None of us know what the "reporter" said or did before this incident. But it was certainly ridiculous what the crowd did.

If she wants to handle disagreements by 'muscle' rather than reason, perhaps Somalia is more her country than the US (y'know, what with its pesky 1st Amendment and all...).
