The greatest criticism against Obama is partisan sensationalism or conspiracy theories. He's hated by Republicans now, but years down the line, once people aren't as emotional about the politics of the Obama years, people will be able to look at it from a fair and balanced perspective and see that Obama really wasn't all that bad. In fact, people might actually admit that Obama has been a pretty darn successful President.
He inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression and turned it into the best economy since the 1990s. He saved the American Auto Industry and made the decisions necessary to keep the country out of a second Great Depression. He ended the War in Iraq and captured Osama Bin Laden, all while keeping America out of further wars that the country doesn't belong in to begin with. He was able to get national healthcare passed, something Bill Clinton wasn't able to do. He was also able to end Don't Ask Don't Tell and open combat operations up to women, creating a more fair and just armed forced, this being something else Clinton tried to do but couldn't. He has also cut the deficit and under Obama, America is more energy independent than ever with gas prices now under $2 as opposed to near $5 during Bush's last year in office. All of this was done WITHOUT the potentially environmentally catastrophic Keystone Pipeline or ANWR exploration.
Obama has not had to deal with any real, credible scandal like Clinton did. Obama has not had a Hurricane Katrina on his watch. Of course the events of 2016 could change everything, but at the moment, I really think Obama was the right man for the right era and history will look back on him kindly for it.
So how do you think history will judge the Obama era?
He'll never be remembered as a good President by me. I'll give JFK and FDR the benefit of the doubt, but never the anti-American, anti-white, anti-liberty Obama, nor Clinton and LBJ. I agree the liberals who write most stories on history will be favorable to him. They never are critical of a fellow liberal, most of all not a black one.
He inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression and turned it into the best economy since the 1990s.
really? you probably weren't born during the Carter years. Inflation over 12%, high unemployment, shortage of gas. Low morale in the military, not respected or fear around the world and losing the Cold war with the Soviets.
Lied about Obamacare......Healthcare cost went up over 25%, Premiums went up over 60%
Doubled the National Debt and the Median Household Income has gone down for the past 7 years under Obama.
He'll be known as the first black President (though he is half white). I don't think Obamacare will last but he will be judged on its success or failure (which I think will be a dramatic failure over time). Politically he won handily both times but Congress and the Senate flipped to both Republican during his reign and we now have more elected Republicans than at any time since 1928...if Republicans win the Presidency in 2016 and retain the 2 Houses of Congress, he will be seen as causing the complete destruction of Liberal Democrat power.
Since we don't know what will happen in the next year, it could be everything written about obama could be from some things that happen in the next year.
