It's odd that Obama came up with this executive order late in his 2nd term, and not during the first term, which tells me it's his way of getting even with the pro-Second Amendment voters who demolished the Democratic party in the 2014 mid-term elections.
Given everything he has done in the last 7 years, the guy has no common sense and he isn't willing to listen to the American people.
Why should he listen to us. He's the smartest guy there is, doncha know?

It's a given that TeamObama doesn't give a flip about what the American people want OR the LAW.
It could be "pay-back", he is known for his Stompy-Foot Tantrums and sneer.
It's more likely to be a Standard Operating Procedure "Distraction" from his release of 17 Gitmo Prisoners - while it gives him a great excuse to hop on Air Force One for a "tour" so he can bloviate and probably work in some Fund Raising.
Between 2001 - 2013, 400,000+ American died from firearms on US soil. A little less than 50% died due to homicides. During the same time, less than 4000 died due to terrorism. It is obvious that your fellow Americans are very dangerous people. Obama has it right, there needs to be gun control. No one is taking your gun. What he is trying to do is to prevent people with mental illness and unlawful issues from owning a gun and then slaughtering Americans. Isn't it ironic that a certain segment of us are sh*t scared of terrorists, yet those that they should be really concern about are fellow Americans.
Executive Action is constitutional.
ok, name one, just one, gun control law that would, short of 100% confiscation, stop ANY shooting in the country, just one.
as for executive action, is it constitutional, AS LONG AS, it does not make new law.
As long as they're not writing new law or refusing to enforce laws we have, then I'm okay with EO's.
Yeah, right up to the time Executive Orders are used to suspend or modify Free Speech, Free Assembly, Free Religion and such.

According tothe CDC there are roughly 10k firearm deaths a year. 13 x 10k = an estimate of 130K from firearm deaths not 400K.

On a more positive note, Executive Orders can be rescinded by other presidents.
We'll have to wait to see if a Republican president does exactly that.
