The only people in a panic over this are the usual doom and gloomers here, day-traders, retailers, and corporations that live and die on a quarterly basis. So, while it's not good, it ain't that bad.
Couldnt the same be said about the initial fall in 2008 give or take?

You don't understand the market dynamics behind the Dow Jones, and what (and more importantly who) was responsible for the Great Recession and the market dropping currently.

China is a huge buyer of big $ stuff from the US. For example:

Boeing got an order for 300 aircraft from China back in September worth $38 billion. No idea of the currency in that transaction. If Yuan, Boeing is screwed. If USD, China is screwed.
Lord still my heart someone actually reads economic news with a wider view than the hot spot of the day!

"worst start in History" my arse. I started investing in the market when it was around 3-4,000. Dropping a couple of thousand points from 17,000 is no big deal. Just wait until it drops a couple more times and then buy some bargains.

Sorry, but you are the only one talking about blame. Ironically you cry blame because of a dip followed by a 300% gain.

Your attempt to project it on me is not working.

Fortunately most Americans have better understanding of things.
