What are some you can think of.

Left-wing conspiracies:

Wall Street and bankers intentionally caused the 2008 financial crisis.

9/11 was an inside job(initially started among left-wingers)

"Big Oil" is doing everything in its capacity to downplay the risk of climate change.

The prison industry caused mass incarceration to form another Jim Crow-like apartheid

CIA purposely put crack on the streets to poison the population

Right-wing conspiracies:

Climate change is a hoax for political purposes and to create a potential money-making industry.

George Soros is behind the Democratic/liberal machine.

Gun control is an attempt to start mass confiscation.

Both sides are statist tools with no interest in freedom or a free market.

They're one in the same and truth in a rigged game isn't reality anyway.

Conspiracy theories are interesting. I think it's bad to discount them completely, but the reason people do usually makes sense. Insanely obsessive people are the ones who attach to these ideas the most aggressively.

And some of these are more credible than others. The Prison Industry is a huge supporter of crime and bankers certainly aren't transparent enough to rule out the possibility that they had no role in the 2008 crash. But climate change has evidence for it and it's ****ing absurd to think the government is poisoning people through cracks in the street.

More evidence is always needed, and until that evidence is found, you shouldn't say with absolute certainty that 9/11 was an inside job.

these aren't really left or right, but..
  • big pharma has had the cure for cancer for years, but hides it because they're making too much money treating it instead.
  • Monsanto is trying to take over the entire universe's agriculture and kill us all

You have two choices:

You believe in some conspiracy theories....or

You believe da guberment always tells the truth.

Which one is the more outlandish position?

Unfortunately one must sift through them.

There are a lot of good ones that I don't have time to list, but I'll do a couple that might not be mentioned by others.

Right - the government is purposely trying to cause a financial collapse so that citizens will turn to them for help, giving them more control over society. It's more of a libertarian one actually...not completely counting it out, but I think it's more ineptitude than evil plotting.

Left - everything anti-government is funded by the Koch brothers and big business so that they can take advantage of the citizens when regulations are gone.

Also, the patriarchy in new wave feminism, which is really just a subsection of leftists. It's a conspiracy by men to keep women down...

Two people get together and they decide one should run for president. It is a conspiracy. What a theory.

Now the people with money want to keep their money and they want the bulk of people educated to work in their factories. Is that a conspiracy?

one of the grossest conspiracy theories out there is that Sandy Hook never happened.

a college PhD was canned last week for saying it repeatedly. And I was very glad to hear it!
