Obama is so out of touch he does not know that construction jobs are by nature, temporary. Guys go to the union hall for another job when one is over. How many temp jobs has obama celebrated when he generated a few temp jobs at the cost of hundreds of thousand dollars.

Who is going to supply material and knowledge to construct the kenyan pipeline? A firend of the obama administration? A donation to HRC'scampaign?

Will that oil end up in the global pool or be used exclusively in Kenya?
Rest assured some high level guy is going toprifit greatly at the expense of the Kenyan people.

the supply line will be a boon to China or ISIS when they take it over after completion.
That is a false statement, the jobs it would have provided was over exaggerated but right wingers swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

As for a pipeline in Kenya, that is just an example of poor people being taken advantage of for the benefit of wealthy corporations....much like what was being attempted in the US with XL, only we were able to prevent such a mistake.

Oh, my fault, I didn't realize this thread was for only those who work in the oil business to comment on. Carry on oil barron, tell us your wisdom of the oil business.

Leftists are only against XL because Obama was. They are only for this Kenyan one because Obama is. They play follow the leader with anything Obama and other Dems tell them to follow like a shiny metal object is to barracuda. If all of a sudden Obama changed his mind about XL they would too.

The U.S. has to support this since Kenya paid Hillary to go back and gain enough support to get the U.S. to support this pipeline. If only the Canadians bought off Hillary too.

With gas at $30 a barrel, we should start to see $1 outer gallon gas. Let's thank Bush for this windfall.

I would be against it even if Obama was super excited and completely for this, just like I am against the TPP deal he and the Republicans put together.

The pipeline doesnt bring in any measurable tax revenue, nor does China refining the oil hurt the US in anyway.

Your argument is based on a fallacy.

If more of the crude is refined in China it would cause more pollution than refining it in the USA. China doesn't have nearly the same environmental standards.

Obama's statements on the Keystone Pipeline have been largely false.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...experts-disag/

There is a huge lack of crude for US refineries. We could bring in more crude from Canada, or we could bring in more crude from further away and from countries that we are not close allies with.

Is it a good thing to shorten the distance that oil will end up traveling?

Is it a good thing to make sure that US refineries have enough crude as opposed to countries with less strict environmental standards?

Is it a good thing when US oil refineries pay taxes and increase jobs to refine the oil...it is a distortion for Obama to only look at the jobs that the pipeline directly creates, when he has to be smart enough to know his position on the jobs it will create is BS, as refineries and the port would have to hire more.
