Well, I think that learning how to analyze media coverage is a great way to develop critical thinking skills.

Many classes would touch on current issues, which people are predominately informed about via the mass media. If you want to understand why something is an issue, you have to pinpoint the root cause of opposing viewpoints, then examine them.

Some of the classes seem to welcome discussion. I don't see the issue, but I guess that's just me.

Because that's how we say it's always been, therefore we should keep it that way.

But back when it first became the "always been" that it is today, there was little understanding of human origin. Back then (Speaking hundreds of years ago), it was thought that whites were one race, blacks were one race, Asians were one race, and Native Americans were one race. What has now been scientifically proven is that all humans came from Africa, Native Americans are the descendants of Asians, and Europeans are the descendants of Africans that migrated north and quickly adapted to the climate.

We are all one race. Unfortunately, too many people assume that there are multiple different races. This is why it is important that schools teach students about the FACTUAL version of human origin, and none of that Bible fictional story-book drek. Let your kids make their own decisions on this topic, rather than forcing your personal beliefs onto them.

Let them learn about white supremacy. Let them learn about the KKK. Let them learn about the Holocaust. Let them learn about the Imperialism of Africa. The only way to prevent the future from holding any more racism and segregation is by learning about how we are all equal. Acceptance is something that must be taught.

Sorry for wanting my kids to learn about facts. If you don't like it, send your kids to private religious school and have them get brainwashed by religious bs.
First, not facts. Those are opinions.

Second, why should a taxpayer shell out more money to avoid the propaganda being spewed forth in the schools?

Third, why do they have to leave to learn about religion? After all, it's just another perspective that they should be introduced to, and allowed to make their own mind up about. Right? So why NOT religion?

Deal with it.
White privilege is fiction, but that's included. Hmmm......
