Articles: Save Us from the Tyranny of 'Settled' Science
The article is a great example of 'propaganda' based on creating and attacking straw men, and dishonest misrepresentation of facts.

Peak oil, we all know what a fallacy that is.
Yes we all know you probably believe Al Gore 'invented' the greenhouse effect and global warming

Look up the physicist John Tyndall from the 19th century.

It matters not if you BELIEVE that the climate is changing toward becoming warmer or you BELIEVE that it is not or weather you BELIEVE it is caused by human activity (emitting vast quantities of Carbon dioxide) or Believe it is not. What does matter is WHAT THE EARTH IS DOING. Determining that requires observation, data collection and fitting a theory that explains the evidence in a coherent manner.

BELIEF in a predetermined explanation is NOT and NEVER HAS BEEN science. It is in the realm of preachers, priests, politicians and prevaricators.

"Settled Science" is indeed a cynical political bludgeon / phantasm, and nothing else. In fact, ironically, the notion of settled science is insulting to the intellect of anyone to whom it is mentioned. I'm not sure if it is better or worse if the people who wield such a nonsensical term actually know of its inherent self-contradiction. If they do, then they are being deeply manipulative and reliant on the relative lack of education of most people. If they do not, then they are the last people who should be lecturing anyone on anything having to do with science. Instead, they should concentrate on forklift skills or whatever other meager way that they can contribute to society.

The philosophical and methodological foundations of the scientific method require, as their core component, continued observation and thus posteriori knowledge. This is in direct opposition to a-priori knowledge or, in other words, assumed "truth". The nature of the scientific method requires that truth / knowledge is never assumed to be rigid but always an object that can be altered by newly observed data.

In essence, science requires that its conclusions are never, and I mean never, "settled". If these people really wanted to claim anything as settled, they would, again ironically, need to abandon science for faith. Let us know, SJWs, if this is the new order that you mean to institute and we will adjust accordingly.

Going further, anyone with a cursory knowledge of quantum physics laughs every time some liberal SJW with a non-science degree from Second-Tier State U attempts to make claims on settled science. It really is the most desperate of political ploys and one of so many attempts to stifle information and debate on any number of their political agendas. These people really are the saddest, most pathetic bunch to come along in recent history.
